I very rarely remember my dreams, so why I remember this one in such great detail is beyond me. Perhaps I need a couch-session to figure it out. Or not.
I’m on one of those kid-trains that have no top to it riding alongside the coastal waters. The train is full of people who are trying to go to and fro from work and the like. Andy is riding with me, but not paying attention to me. He is paying attention to the kids, which are sitting next to him. I stand up to get a better view of the ocean, when an old friend I knew at Granite High school stands up and gets in my face. She’s a large girl, with long, hippy-stringy hair and a stinky wrinkly dress who tells me that I must take over the “reigns” of power and tell the world of their misgivings. I look at her like she’s a nut, so she says “follow me” and, oddly enough, I do.
Suddenly I am in this OLD chamber room that is inside of an Egyptian tomb (but with Gothic columns holding the room up). The room is about 20 feet by 20 feet square. After you walk in about three feet, the floor dips down a step, then after another three feet, it dips down again (all the way around). At the very center of the floor is a large, square pool of oceanic salt water. Inside the water swims fish and eels and crabs, etc amongst very large, prolific seaweed plants. The weird hippy girl is standing on the other end of the room in a trance, just looking at the water.
Suddenly, the water changes from sea-green, to deep bluish-purple. The hippy girl starts talking about how I must take over the “work” of the “others” and I have to spread the word of the future to them all. Whomever “them all” may be. I am still skeptical, so she beckons me to look in the water, and as I do, the seaweed starts to glow and rise out of the water. In between the strands of seaweed is a holographic image of the world and what will happen to it in the future. It hurts my eyes to look at it, but I can’t look away either. The seaweed starts to vibrate and pulse. It has slowly changed from dark green to bright gold. The crabs in the water have scurried to the edges of the water, and the fish are being lifted out of the water fins first. It’s as though their tails are holding the hologram.
When the holographic message is nearing the end, the hippy girl collapses to the ground, dies, and turns into eels. The eels slink their way into the water below. At the end of the holographic message (I kid you not) a STUPID holographic sign comes up that says “brought to you by Starbucks” with the Starbuck’s image behind the words/text. Then the hologram blitzes, and goes dark. Everything retains its natural color again, and the glowing is gone. The fish and the seaweed splash to the water and I can feel some weird vibration in the ground under my feet. I turn around to leave, and find that there are no doors. There is no way out of the room. The eels start to come out of the water and find their way to me, wrapping themselves around my ankles and legs. Then I wake up.
